3. The story of what has been happening in Colombia since the 1st leftist Presidential candidate was
assassinated in 1947, which initiated the decade of open warfare against the left, murdering over 200,000, known as La Violencia and all these long years of the left struggling to survive, and occassionally attempting to participate in politics again, only to have MORE candidates slaughtered, is going to be told DESPITE all efforts of the corporate media to keep our country completely in the dark about it for the sake of ideology.

It's a miracle this woman is still living, and one can only hope her "luck" will not desert her, even though those so precious to her have been stricken down in the most terrifying and soul-crushing ways.

Thanks for this video.

4. Thank you for providing more background to this story.
Currently she is traveling the United States speaking at college campuses, so I hope she is safe for now. She told the story of one young male activist, another displaced farmer, who had worked with her group, who was shot several times in the head in a clear assassination/execution--just one of many activists and leaders she has known over the years. But she also told about the continued work of the people to raise awareness and free themselves. I'll be honest that I know even less about the situation in Columbia than I believed, but this woman has inspired me to continue learning, and start fighting. Being in Appalachia, another region victimized by powerful interests who value the resources within the land far more than the lives upon it, I identify with her struggle that much more strongly.
