The famous Bell Telephone Hour clip, with the all knowing Dr Frank Baxter explaining a very modern understanding of climate science in 1958.
Enlightening and infuriating.
Show this to your ditto head buddy who thinks global warming was invented by Al Gore.

Many people have seen this on other sites, but I thought it would be good to make it part of the Climate Crocks playlist, where
a lot more people can access it.

4. AHA! Al Gore simply back dated his birth certificate to 1928 and..
Changed his name to Capra.. which backwards spells Algore...sort of in Italian which proves he is a fascist, a friend of Mussolini, who was friends with Hitler, who invented Climate Change.

A very good friend who is close to a relative of Glen Beck told me that.

10. Your logic is impeccable.
And I know it is true because I also have a friend that has a friend that knows Glen Beck.

5. "The Unchained Goddess" - that is NOT what I was hoping for in this video

"Is that BAD???"

How some terrific acting there especially the hand gestures. :eyes:

Very basic and very simple just like we all know the facts to be.

6. Wow..
a little premonition? I guess they didn't realize that people would become a little less educated as time moved forward. The dumbing down factor wasn't even included, because they probably thought the opposite would be true. Who would have thought a so called News Network would advise people to not think for themselves, but ask them to trust them while feeding them false ideology?

Yikes, turning right when we should have turned left..

24. hmm...
Freud's nephew, Bernays, promoted the idea that the hoi polloi are gullible (nee guileless?) and in need of the 'benevolent' guidance of the uber wealthy and powerful elite, who count among their number the 'only' humans who are intellectually capable of providing such guidance, while steering our wee nation forward into a blissful and utopic future. Bernays is almost solely responsible for our citizenry's inordinate addiction to acquiring 'things' in order to 'feel good.'

Of COURSE the Corporate Megalomaniacs don't want us common folk to think for ourselves! That would jeopardize their entire house of cards!

9. Teachers used to show Bell Telephone Science Hour videos (the old two reelers)
to their classes when I was in elementary school.

I thought that guy was Mr. Bell Telephone himself.

There was some really terrific programing in those days. If I remember the schedule right, we'd sit down on Sunday evenings to watch LASSIE, THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, AND THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW. We little ones would be just as disappointed to miss THE TWENTITH CENTURY as we would be to miss LASSIE.

11. You know, this and Hubbert's Peak Oil Theory in 1958 should have been enough...
...for the government to take steps in reducing oil consumption and developing solar, wind, and other forms of renewable energy.

I wonder if this kind of information was suppressed by "private interests" that far back?

19. Well, by 1960 JFK was winding down the Cold War and making it laughable....
Edited on Thu Nov-11-10 08:18 PM by defendandprotect
and it was followed by a surge in right wing political violence taking not only

our president but our "people's" government.

It was a unique period in time for peace and cooperation --

JFK -- Kruschev -- Pope John XXII -- three leaders working for peace and cooperation.

And RACHEL CARSON working against environmental insanity -- !!

of turned completely around.

13. Anyone know where that weird clip Glenn Beck keeps showing Scientist on the ice cap saying a new ice
age was coming, so we had to cover the ice caps with soot and melt them. It look like it was form around 1960 ruffly. I so sick of talking about that one and the little ice age.

16. Thank you...
I just got to relive a little of my childhood...those two men, along with Mr. Wizard and every cheesy scifi movie took me down the path of science. I love the Bell Telephone Science Hour.

Thanks so much for posting this.
