4. The movie, Inside Job, speaks to that point.
While it was the libertarian/conservative ideology that first started the snow ball rolling under Reagan, many Democrats, including Bill Clinton, gave that snow ball a big push. Many other Dems stuck their heads in the sand, and many more just lacked the courage to confront a system that was inevitably going to collapse leaving taxpaying citizens holding the bag.

5. They better pull their heads from the sand
soon because we are in crisis as a nation. On nearly every front we are in crisis, yet it is business as usual from our elected representatives and the media.

6. It is....
the man with the checkbook who is pulling the chains on this issue. Corruption won't stop until businesses begin to feel pressured by our disdain. One by one we need to renounce the model of society that has been painted by them for the past 50 years or so.

I know that the power brokers have ever done this but until we are willing to fore go some of their products and services they will not hear us.

Truly though start at the city and county level for campaign cash reform. Candidates should not be allowed to solicit money outside of their area of constituency. Think of how that will effect the influence of corporations and party hacks.

Media must provide ads for free to those who show that they are serious candidates. That will mean far fewer television and radio ads because instead of a cash cow the media will be accruing some negative outlays. It is the cost of television and radio access that has driven up the cost of campaigns. This year it was almost a billion dollars. A billion reasons to corrupt the process!

7. Cenk nails it again.
Frankly, though, I have doubts at this point whether anything can turn it around. There is so much money at the top I don't see how anyone can fight the system.

10. Please explain to me why congress people get money outside their salaries and its not considered
bribes? I think this extra money is the problem. There is a
serious conflict of interest that is nearly criminal if you
ask me.

Jons lighthearted take on Bushes criminality is stunning and casts a strange shadow on his comedy.

I for one can never look at it the same.

There is something very important here that Jon is just not getting or chooses not to get. It is as if the million Iraqi lives slaughtered, are meaningless; to say nothing of the thousands of our own dead for nothing but lies and greed.

What heinous calumny do you have to be guilty of in Jons eyes, to be a war criminal?

The"right v left", without the understanding that it is Truth v propaganda for something very nefarious is, to me, disingenuous.

Put on the scales of justice, the strange take on medias "left v right" instead of what is lies v truth, without examining where the true propaganda is coming from and the urgent need to expose the lies; without understanding and pointing out what is really going on in this country; added to a pass for Bushes criminality; outweigh a few meaningless laughs whose funny was a perception of sophistication and clever snark.

For me at least that wheel has a slow leak that seems at this point to be unpatchable.

As for the rest of the rant I am in complete agreement.

Pardon the oxymoron "true propaganda"
