The GOP wants to ban earmarks in Congress, while extending the trillion-dollar tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires. They don't seem to realize that earmark projects are already fully funded, and that they help create local jobs and businesses throughout America. Mike Papantonio and Ed Schultz talk about how the GOP will self destruct under their own proposals.

1. Thank you for posting and especially for providing some context
and not simply a link. Very much appreciated for those of us who might not be able to watch at work or wherever, but want to know whether or not to bookmark for later viewing.

4. They've got two more years.
How many Americans can they kill in two years from assorted neglect and outright cruelty?

3. Didn't Know this about Holder
the man is already compromised before taking his position... Obama has been appointing people that fail at representing what the majority wants. He's another corporate lackey....

6. Republicans will never dig their own graves...
They'll hire illegal immigrants to do it for them, then bitch about illegal immigration.

Oh, yeah, and then they'll claim they never knew the illegals they hired were illegal...

7. For the most part, the Republicans don't really need earmarks for their districts anymore.
With the now completely wide open global market, the American economy and American workers are less important to them. There are far more lucrative markets around the world that are flush with cash, so the transnationals, the Republicans real base, have moved on.

This is why they are now willing to sacrifice those earmarks. And, their constituents won't even know why things suck so much economically. After all, there is no real media to report on this and, thanks to Citizens United, the elections are already in the bag.

Pretty clever strategy. Too bad the rest of us will now have to suffer the consequences.

8. Excellent video here.
Mike Papantonio and Ed Schultz dissect what should be done.

YouTube

Pap and Ed agree: Let all of the Bush tax cuts expire at the end of December, which will force Republicans to act in the new Congress for their rich friends.

When Issa trumpets all of the *investigations* he's going to launch in the House in the new Congress:

Pap says: The Senate's investigative capability far exceeds that of the House. When Issa threatens to examine "A", the Democratic-controlled Senate should counter with, 'OK, we're going to investigate "B".' When Issa says 'we gonna investigate "C", the Senate states, 'OK, then, we'll investigate "D" "E" and "F".

Pap says the biggest screw-up of Bill Clinton's was not investigating Iran Contra. That let Bush I and Rumsfeld off the hook, which directly led to the murderous farce of George W. Bush and 2 illegal, unfunded wars, and all that followed. Pap says Clinton was afraid people would get mad at him if he went after those people.

Yep. Robert Parry says the same thing.

Cowardice is a very ugly trait when our country's future is on the line.
