I really think he could have had a chance to beat Vitter. I base that on his national name recognition; Louisiana's politics can be very difficult to comprehend.

On the other hand, he & his wife live in New Orleans, party with the upper crust society, which favors Mattelin's politics. I take this video with a grain of salt; birds of a feather, perhaps?

He didn't care enough about the Democrats to get involved with the senate race.
