The Tyranny of Soy in Paraguay

Ben Dangl: Since being elected in 2008, the 'Red Bishop' Fernando Lugo has been unable, or unwilling, to deliver on promises made to the landless farmers who got him to power in the first place.

1. If you look at it in a domestic perspective, is Lugo's approach not similar to Obama's?
If you're up against a legislature that opposes change, and the money of the same companies that rule our company, how much can you do? Ironically, the same story could be set in many rural communities in the USA, but the story is the same. Monsanto got our farmers to be dependent on GM seeds and is prosecuting those who sew seeds from past crops for patent infringement. They need the crops - the crops need the chemicals - and the cost is driving the small farmers into bankruptcy. This is exactly what the GOP wants because they are no better than what this video shows.

It is happening here too. This isn't a "somewhere else" problem.

5. As is Operation Condor does not continue to this day...
It's just hidden under a sickly sweet coating of Democracy Sugar, and as long as it enriches the Corporations, it will continue unabated regardless of Political Affiliation.

I think that two many people actually believe that Republicans are more predisposed to this behavior than Democrats, but it is not true. It is only the Political wing that actually say what the Corporation really wants, while the Democrats just quietly move ahead by allowing these lopsided trade agreements to actually occur.

Both parties are working hard for Corporate America, simply because Corporate America has the capability to foment revolution by simply altering the supply of basic necessities at will, and most likely they have let the US Government know it in private.

2. Why I am not a vegan
This video puts it nicely.

Of course, the real culprit is capitalism.
