Yep, Hartmann "has a rumble with" the Christian kook Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association once again. Fischer is getting a lot of flak over his comments re: Medal of Honor, even from regular readers of his blog!

The Citations for each MoH is at the link, including 3 chaplains during the Civil War that were awarded the Moh.

Four chaplains who did not receive the MoH died on the Dorchester during WWII. I don't see where Fischer has even come close to being correct on any of his assertions.

4. Asshole. The reason more soldiers aren't "taking the hills" killing the enemy...

is because they're shooting them from above in unmanned drones, air strikes, and in the case of the first Gulf War, by carpet bombing. Firefights in urban areas notwithstanding, the majority of casualties that I saw as a nurse came from soldiers caught in sniper fire, IEDs, and car bombs. I can't profess to be an expert in Afghanistan since I never went there, but this guy is really full of shit. He's never been in the military from what I saw of his bio. Typical Rethug chicken hawk. If he'd been an Army 11 Bulletstopper, I'd have at least just rolled my eyes. These guys make me sick.
