Do they ever hire anyone with an iota of intelligence????????/

The quality of the people in this job is an embarrassment..but then again, they pay what?...minimum wage salaries? and THAT is what is guarding our lives!!!! What a crock of crapola.

These are pompous, arrogant assholes with nothing to be pompous or arrogant about!!

I hope she finds a good lawyer and sues each and every one of those idiots as well as the TSA as a whole.

I think there is way more to this story than what we are seeing. But you all can buy into the hype if you want to. Have at.

32. I think it's the training by rote instead of by logic followed by ordinary officials...
An exception is presented. They follow some memorized training meme regardless of the likelyhood. They detain her endlessly, hoping she will say something- 'slip up'- as it were, even though it should be obvious that she's a regular citizen. I see this constantly in other forms today outside the airport. People are given 'assembly-line' type training and discouraged from using common sense or the ability to use deductive reason. They also are not educated in the 'big picture'- it's all hierarchy, up and down the 'line of command'- like they're told: don't trust your own mind; we don't have time or want to spend the money to educate you fully to a point of competence and self-confidence. So they learn to fake these skills and look what happens.

6. The pigs in TSA are just like the other uniformed thugs in our society. They are losers who cannot
find real jobs because of their personality defects.

Just like cops and private security types, they love the authority they have and get off on pushing people around.

Unfortunately, there is no way to fight them because they have all the power.

Only if enough people act up enough to bring air traffic to a halt will something be done. And then, only because the airline corporations would complain about loss of revenue.

There have to be creative ways to crash the system. I am thinking of something akin to a "flashmob" that targets a particular airport at a particular time. Everyone opts-out and forces the assholes to do the time-consuming screening that we really all would like to avoid. Everyone winds up missing their flight. But that would entail sacrifice on the part of Americans and we do not do that.

If you are going to miss your flight because of these domestic terrorists in uniform, then I say, go all out to delay and cause them problems. Fake an illness. Make yourself vomit all over their pretty plexiglass cubes. Collapse on the floor and scream for an ambulance. Pretend you do not speak English. Or are deaf and require a "signer" to explain things to you. Or simply do not understand what they are saying because you are "fuckin retarded."

I am also for using whatever weapons are at your disposal. If you have a young child, or infant, do nothing to control them. Leave it all to the uniformed goons to deal with. I would hope that even idiot America would not put up with children being abused, manhandled, and roughed up by these cretins. But I also would not be surprised if there was little protest of even that. Look at the large numbers of people who supported and continue to support the Catholic church and their pedophiles.

And always make sure a friend is video-taping the incident, and then, you return the favor when they go through.

But, as long as others calmly pass by this woman held prisoner in front of them, with nary a glance in her direction, I cannot see anything remedying this obscenity.

Storm troopers are storm troopers, no matter what uniform they are wearing.

7. Why does the TSA have so many ignorant fat fucks working for them?
I wanted to reach through the screen a beat the shit first out of the Fat Tub of Lard woman just watching her in the clear inspection booth for an hour as she missed her flight. This piece of shit is probably talking with her friends about how the passengers must do what they have to say or they will make their lives a living hell. What a feeling of power from a group of people who should not have power. Then I wanted to beat the crap out of the manager who does not even know his own rules. I would have been arrested if I had to deal with these people in her position.

one thinking about this. But imagine the amount of political capital he can gain from squashing this whole TSA over reach. He could get enough capital to pass all sorts of progressive policies that the repubs have been blocking for 2yrs now. This could be the issue that can revive Obama's popularity amount independents, moderate republicans and libertarians.

I know he agrees with it now but that would even make it more of a win if he goes against it and sides with the little people. Just think about it folks

27. False imprisonment.
"False imprisonment is a restraint of a person in a bounded area without justification or consent. False imprisonment is a common-law felony and a tort. It applies to private as well as governmental detention".

A country has no freedom when pregnant women are imprisoned for only wanting to feed their babies safely and with their own breast milk.

These TSA idiots need to return to their former jobs as Wal-Mart greeters and shopping cart inspectors.

28. From the TSA web site.
"TSA is also modifying the rules associated with carrying breast milk through security checkpoints. Mothers flying with, and now without, their child will be permitted to bring breast milk in quantities greater than three ounces as long as it is declared for inspection at the security checkpoint.

Breast milk is in the same category as liquid medications".

"Medication and related supplies are normally X-rayed. However, as a customer service, TSA now allows you the option of requesting a visual inspection of your medication and associated supplies".

29. RESPONSE FROM WOMAN IN THIS VIDEO
text comments from youtube video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdAtb95h1Cc

I am the brunette in black getting my items ready for screening (you will see me about 45 seconds into the video). I travel every week and bring home breast milk with me through Phoenix Sky Harbor. TSA rules allow for alternate screening (no xray) for breast milk and I almost never had
a problem...until the week before this screening. I was held for 30 minutes that week while the
TSA manager called to find out the rules. I was told to "pump and dump," asked why the milk
wasn't clear, and asked where my baby was if it was really milk (uh traveling, working mom pumping doesn't usually have the baby with her). After begging him to figure it out, they finally
let me through. I called and complained to TSA and was instructed to travel with the TSA breast
milk rules printed out and present them whenever there is a problem. As my items come through security this time, I notice immediately that I was dealing with the same people from the week
before. The woman tells me right away that my milk might have to go through xray, and then I
tell her I printed the rules. I go to grab the rules on top of my bag and she freaks out and pushes
my arm away. Another guy comes over and calls for "back up" and they put in me back in the
glass cage. Standing 50 ft away are the same manager and supervisor I had dealt with the previous week. They will stall for 20 minutes before coming over to me. Meanwhile, one of the guys comes over to me and tells me "to be quiet if I know what's good for me." At the end of this portion I have been locked up for just under 10 minutes. The whole ordeal takes just under 1 hour.

my brother in law did me a favor by helping me put the videos together, speed them up, and narrate. He didn't know all the details so there were a few errors but he tried to get it up as soon as possible knowing that the issue really needed to get out there. My son was 7 months old at the time and I
was not pregnant during the video. I got pregnant 6 weeks later and am due any week now with
our next little one. Travel and pumping will start again for me in February 2011...

@mommy2kdk: I get to the airport just over an hour before my flight. It is a weekly commuter flight b/t PHX and LAX and I don't check luggage. Usually the screening takes 5 extra minutes and lines are short. Clearly I wasn't planning on an hour long screening which is why I missed my flight. @kcornishscott: I am working on getting women and men together on a blog soon. TSA is a major power-house and we need to band together otherwise this abuse of power will continue. I will update soon.

@mommy2kdk, you bring up a very good point. TSA does a very poor job of communicating the rules for breast milk. However, they are as follows: medical liquids can have an alternate screening (which means no x-ray) but must be announced before the x-ray machine. Breast milk is classified as a medical liquid. Also, the 3.4 oz requirement does not apply to medical liquids and as such does not apply to breast milk.
