His overall point was that we as a party must stand up and speak out for what we believe in to win. He says Obama should lead the way since he has the bully pulpit. I disagree about the Social Security stuff, but he is spot on about about the rest..

1. he's right on the money about strength how the GOP wields it, even when wrong

and how the Democrats need to get strong or be held responsible - especially re: unpaid for tax cuts for the wealthy

2. They are just waffling on the tax cuts.
Afraid to take a stand.

3. Obama has the responsibility to lead the party with strength and conviction
He has failed at that task thus far. He's a great governor and has been a lousy leader. He must do both and he must do both well. He does one well.

10. Governorship is a term for governing, whether it be a country or a state
He's good at the nuts and bolts but not at the podium leadership.

4. I think I have to disagree. I don't believe Obama is weak, rather, I think he's a sell-out.

5. K&R. He was brilliant last night!
I agree that he shouldn't have included SS cuts in his list, but we really do need more toughness from our Democratic team.

6. Begging a Democratic President to use the power of the bully pulpit to LEAD.
Sad state of affairs. Is Obama simply ineffectual, or is he complicit with right-of-center, anti-Democratic ideals? Either way, corporate America wins, while everyone else can suck eggs.

8. Howard gets it right again
If he had stayed on as DNC chair, we wouldn't have had this mess, and had he been Obama's chief of staff, there wouldn't
even have been idle talk about Speaker Bonehead.

9. I was glad to hear him sound a wee bit pissed, DFW
Because I sure am. He needs to get angry.

11. Howard rarely displays anger
If he shows himself to be a "wee bit pissed," well for Howard to show that in public
is the equivalent of anyone else tearing out their hair, screaming and throwing paperweights!
