She has such a wonderful demeaner. She does a remarkable job of delivering bad new stories with such a cheerful personality. She is not overly cheerful, too, which is a good thing. She simply strikes a nice balance were somebody like myself would have delivered the same story using something like a chair being broken over a table to demonstrate the point.
Although I like her analogy better than my own, let me share the way that I see modifying the Lucy/Charlie Brown metaphor. In my version, Charlie would not automatically kick the football. Instead Lucy would make it very clear to him at the very beginning that she is going to pull the football away. Charlie Brown would then say "Yes, I know you will pull the football away", just so that there is no area for confusion. Then Lucy would ask him, "So, why are you even trying to kick it?" and Charlie Brown would answer "I DON'T KNOW!!!!!". Then he would attempt to kick the football and Lucy would pull it away.
