1. Use the whip
As we have witnessed over the last year the success of parties that use the whip on their representatives is a most effective political tool.
The teabaggers, with their in your face style and command of a major network, have displayed their strength and now hold influence with all indications their strength will grow.
John has effectively used his bully platform to facilitate an issue most dear to his heart. It was his compassion that won the day, along with the ground swell of support he garnered.
If you want something to go your way in Washington you must be LOUD and PERSISTENT!
Thanks John and thanks to all of those who stayed in the face of their elected reps!
As a footnote I am begining to believe that our allies, namely KO, while carrying the progressive message, only come across as whiners, much the same as we view Faux.

6. Agreed.. And not enough credit goes to those 9/11 responders
and supporters who DID WHAT WE'RE ALL SUPPOSED TO BE DOING!

Standing up and demanding what we want and have a right to.

2. The Blonde Bobblehead
calling Senator Gillibrand by her first name throughout the interview.

Gotta love those Journalistic standards.

3. Pathetic. Obama is an empty suit who wouldn't DARE offend Repubs
even if they were killing puppies and kittens in the House Chamber.

It was telling to see a TV host take up the fight when few in our government
would do it themselves.

4. Comedian more powerful
than the President. Sad that the only thing Obama is willing to fight for is mo' money for the rich.

5. The more I read DU the madder I get.
There are people who will jump up and blame Obama for the weather. The repuks have a free ride on this forum. I guess the tea party insane jerks have found DU and are infiltrating it.

7. feet to the fire
Vigorous criticism among ourselves is necessary and to be expected. Yes, Republicans are repugnant and outrageous but focusing on that is not going to be what drives progress. There is a battle to be waged within the Democratic, Progressive, Liberal sphere.
