13. WE know that if Rahm were still chief of staff
Howard Dean would not be speaking to the democrats to rally support. Fire all the clinton retreads in the Obama administration. WE did not vote for hillary clinton. She cannot get elected . She is handling the State Dept. like a storm trooper..going all over the world insulting people. Except for the dictators..she likes them.

4. Yeah, Poor little bobby..
On that kind of starvation wage, he'll barely be able to survive until someone offers him mega-bucks for his "tell all" book.

6. Wow! 200 thou...the bottom bracket of the 'gubmunt' revolving door racket.
If it were not so evil Its almost poetic. Meanwhile, back in the real world, the folks paying for this racket are getting poorer by the day, trying to pay for all this shit. Those who can no longer carry the load, fugedaboudit.

And no political appointee will be able to lobby the executive branch after leaving government service during the remainder of the administration." ~Barack Obama

9. Congratulations
Robert "I Hate" Libbs. Heckuva job. Cenk hit the nail on the head. It's the mind-set. Can you think of any other White House staffers in recent years who have held onto their altruistic views of public service once they've felt the power? What a joke.

10. How about
Dana Perino for press secretary. That would be in line with re-stocking the same goods with new expiration dates, kind of like re-stocking the White House with Wall Streeters. But I'm not sure if she has a Chicago connection.

14. Listen up.
You've got a good point, but we all recognize overt commercial advertising. People should also understood that when politicians speak for their corporate masters they are actually endorsing a product for which they are paid and that the product is their prerogative on wealth and power. :smoke:

12. What a sham.
Even after our College Degree, and many years experience, a $40,000 a year job is wonderful for the majority. Wait, aren't they supposed to represent the majority....nah just the Koch brothers and friends........

16. Two years is about average to last in a job like his
Even in state government, people in those positions burn out quickly. Honestly, the world is not West Wing where ppl come back season after season. I've done those jobs and my son has done those jobs and it is 24/7 and you burn out.

Additionally, I read Obama's comment differently than TYT guy. Sounds like it was not just Gibb's decision. For Cenk to jump on the "modest pay" phrase and make it into a scandal is bizarre. Which only goes to show, once again, Cenk is not as smart as we need.

Finally, there are expenses to taking those types of jobs. Either you have to move your family to DC or support two households. Both are expensive.

Sometimes it is not Obama's fault.

17. How much does Cenk Uygur Earn?
Just curious. After all, journalists shouldn't get into their profession to make money. Does he have an agent? Who negotiated his salary at MSNBC? Sounds to me as though he's claiming that Gibbs is Un-American because he wants to make more money. Last time I checked, most people in this country were okay with making money. How can Uygur point a finger at Gibbs when he doesn't even know where he's going to earn his Big Money? Overall, a really shoddy piece of commentary.

18. Cenk is not a journalist so there goes that argument.
He's a commentator who shares stories and then gives his opinions on them (I disagree with his opinion on, for example, teacher tenure, and you disagree with him on Gibbs in this video). Second, he never came close to claiming that Gibbs is un-American, I honestly don't see a shred of a point there. But maybe if you clarify and get specific I'll at least see where you're coming from.

Finally, the larger problem is with viewing public service as a vehicle to make private sector cash. It's a bi-partisan problem we should all be concerned about.

PS---If this was a Republican press secretary being discussed I'm guessing there wouldn't be the two critical comments in this thread, but that's just my opinion.
