Keep drinking the kool aid. Libertarians and progressives have far more in common than they have with their core parties. They would be a force to contend with if they could just drop the hate. Matt Taibbi states in this month's Rolling Stones that the Tea Partiers were disgusted with bushco.Don't hear about that in MSM? Because corporations run MSM to suit themselves. Remember how the NY Times pushed the Iraq War? They are called liberal and do not speak for me.

...such as 90 plus % of USA Democrats and Republicans. Paul and Nader have almost nothing in common with the fake, Koch-hijacked Tea Party morons (ie. the Koch-molded Tea Baggers are almost all pro-empire war machine-huggers).

What Nader said at the end about public-financed/private physician-delivered health care (thus removing the ruinous insurance industry) is definitely a seed for thought.

2. I kind of agree with most everything that both said

and the issues discussed were big issues. It was an interesting interview and I agree that political alliances are changing. The health care discussion illustrates basic disagreement.

The crux of the problem in America is about favoritism, corporatism, cronyism, militarism and a Federal Reserve that sets policy for the benefit of Wall St, not the US economy, and the US people. Our policies of imperialism and creating military action are bankrupting us for the benefit of other nations too.

Most of the stuff that the media drives us to argue about is mostly smokescreen to perpetuate the status quo.

3. Thanks for posting. It was a good interview, with both being allowed to get their points across -

rare form from FOX. I've always enjoyed listening to both Nader and Ron Paul (Rand can go pound sand). I usually hear more I agree with than disagree with from either of them. I used to post Ron Paul quite often in the old Stock Market Watch thread. I know there is no love loss for Nader with quite a few here on DU so I wouldn't expect a lot of glowing replies. :hippie:

As much as I loathe Libertarian positions on many issues, I have to admit when it comes to the ones Ralph Nader listed, I'm in total agreement. I hope they make some progress on restoring civil liberties, ending the wars and destroying the military-industrial complex and corporate welfare.

11. I still respect Ralph. He was trying to so the right thing, even though he did end up making things

worse. Ron Paul I guess even the crazy can be right one and a while. Put Ron next to the stock picking chicken.

14. Nader haters should get over it

I voted for Gore too but the Supreme Court stole the election for Bush--not Nader. What kind of democracy do we want when we have to tell a candidate to step aside because CHOICE in an election is just a luxury and that our representatives should be decided by money and access to media and outfits like the DLC?

He had every right to run and people had every right to vote for him and if the Supreme Court hadn't stepped in Gore may well have won Florida anyway.

I wish Nader would run again. It would give me someone to vote for in the next election.
