4. Here's why I think this is happening in Wyoming.

a) the Republicans, lacking a plausible challenge from Democrats, don't need the financial support of the religious right to get elected.
b) "the equality state" is something they truly take pride in. Every kid in school learns that Wyoming women were the first in the nation to vote, serve on juries and hold public office.
c) the desire to be left the hell alone is greater than their desire to tell their neighbors what to do.

Oh, yeah and off to the greatest. I have mixed feelings about putting the good deeds of Republicans there, but...
