4. Hey The_Nexus, I'm wondering why you posted this. |
|
Do you think there's something wrong with O'Donnell for identifying as a socialist?
Seeing as you reposted it from the anti-American townhall.com, and "Lawrence O'Donnell has said that he's a Socialist!" is a right-wing talking point du jour.

I found this while trying to find his Butt Trumpet/NBC opening. Didn't notice where it came from. Posted it because Lawrence is one of the very few who would say he is a proud socialist in public with pride and no regrets or fears at all. That is courage and sometimes wish other public figures who feel the same do that too.

Seriously. Listen carefully. His comments are practically designed to put the fear into blue dogs and republicans alike with his anti gun talk. Socialism has no opinion on the right to bear arms, to suggest otherwise is absurd. It is the choice of western european governments to limit access to firearms and it has nothing to do with their mixed economic systems.
He is also conflated the Democrats towards socialism by pushing big ticket left wing democratic items like Universal single payer back into the realm of socialism. (great job on that you schmuck.)
Oh and he guests frequently on Morning Joe and you are nuts if you think Scarborough would share a set with an actual socialist.

It sounded good. I would love to have some socialists on the airwaves. But he is not advocating for anything like socialism. What he seems to advocate is actually pretty bland cant quite tell if its mildly left or right centrism.
