my feelings pretty well, particularly at the end of the commentary. Though I don't think that will keep the Republicans from trying to demonize him. They are already trying to minimize this accomplishment by coming out with the absurd statement that obama couldn't have done it without Bush.

16. IMO. the war on "terror" will not be over until

OUR government is rid of all corporate influence and Universal Health Care enacted for all Americans, non-profit.
My sister was diagnosed with cancer yesterday in addition to her (hospital acquired MERSA). She is 54 and unable to work. There is no telling how long she has had this because she can only go to the Public Health Department when THEY determine that she is sick enough.
I remember (and not long ago) when Dr.'s and Hospitals were not allowed to turn away people based on their ability to pay.

the very actions being perpetrated upon us is a sort of terror in itself. A slow, deliberate, creeping terror - eating us alive. Instead of jumping to avoid the flames or the collapse of a skyscraper, we're ailing and dying while we WATCH the monster of unbridled greed trample us as it slithers forward, snapping it's jaws.

My sympathies to your sister. I damned near lost my legs to an infection years ago. It was only the 1st rate medical care I recieved that saved me. I was lucky enough at the time to have double insurance coveraqe, and didn't have to pay one dime out of pocket.

I am really worried about her. She had this last year and obviously it was not "wiped out", only treated until the symptoms were no longer evident.

As for 1st class medical care? Not even close. The Dr.'s who work at the health department, I think, are very compassionate and possibly donate (or are paid very little for) their time.

They have little or no "state-of-the-art" equipment and they are told where (if the patient receives temporary Tenn Care) they must send their patients for specialized treatment. I suspect that is how she got MERSA in the first place. She had a tumor on her breast, they removed it and she developed MERSA in the site.

When she was treated for it last year, it was at a "dingy" clinic, far from home. She said it broke her heart to see so many non-insured people there with terrible diseases and disfigurements from the medical procedures. Also, most of these people were young, too young to acquire Medicare.

It is sad and should anger every American enough to Unite and change this system. I have seen the free-clinics that compassionate medical personnel set-up occasionally around America. The people who arrive days early so they can get help. The assembly-line, basic care that they (thankfully) receive...etc.. it does piss me off. Especially when the Dr.'s are interviewed and you find out that these clinics were originally designed to travel to 3rd world countries until they saw the need in America was so severe.
