2. Rec'd ~ we are not getting news here about what is going on in Iraq.

And over the past several months there was so much going on. The Iraqi people want their country back. They want the mercenaries and the bases and the military out. They have been trying to hold peaceful demonstrations, but the puppet president there ordered them banned. When the people ignored the ban, on the first day of their 'Day of Rage', inspired by the Arab Spring revolutions in Egypt and elsewhere, the government shot 29 unarmed protesters to death and arrested hundreds of them. They have a peace movement there but it's interesting that how our media covers the other revolutions now, but not once have I seen any coverage of Iraq's.

I want us out yesterday but do not believe for a minute that Iraq is not more likely to go toward Iran and become less free and less likely to be democratic once we leave.I still want us out of there,plus Afgan.......Korea,Germany...etc etc

Iraq has been a nation mainly independent of Iran for many years. IMO, they stand a strong chance of remaining so.

4. Credible story? Covered nowhere else. Iranian agenda

This seemed to be an incredible story.

I Googled and found nothing near this story, beside this
source.

I checked out this source in wikipedia.  Press TV is actually
an English language news outlet produced by Iran.

I looked carefully in this story.  As to whether the full
Iraqi parliament made this statement, inside the article it
only says "many" Iraqi lawmakers have declared the
U.S. must go.

unless verified through other media outlets like Al Jazeera!

Press TV & RT are popular here on DU but many forget or not aware that these media outlets are run by the governments that imprison & even kill journalist for reporting anything they do not like!!

8. Well, you don't have to accept this one story. But what is a fact

and what our own censored news has not been covering, is the Iraqi people joining all the other Arab/Muslim nations who are now part of the Arab Spring.

There have been huge, peaceful protests in Iraq, they had their own 'Day of Rage' and were shot down, 29 of them killed, unarmed, in the streets. The government placed a ban on protests and arrested and threw in jail, hundreds of peaceful protesters.

They want what everyone wants, they want US bases out of their country, they want an end to the occupation of their country, they want jobs which were taken from them and given to foreign 'contractors'. They want to benefit from their resources, instead the US forced the signing over of over 80% of Iraq's oil to multi-national Corps. And when that was about to happen and the people went out to peacefully protest, they were brutalized by their Western puppet government.

I am sure there are some in their Parliament who agree with the people. But we have destroyed that country and made matters worse for our own interests, I mean the American people's interests, in that region of the world.

And it's time to leave, way past time.
