Edited on Mon May-16-11 08:23 PM by Buzz Clik
Stewart made one helluva strong point without interruption. :wow:

(On EDIT: Two thumbs up for him going against his personality, which is to bully. Can't wait to watch Part II)

37. I'm pretty sure there were some preconditions
to this interview. If not, at least O'Reilly knew he had to be civilized if he ever wanted Stewart back on his show.

Having said that, still I was impressed with O'Reilly's restraint.

19. Because they're idiots
Yes, O'Reilly's fans will say that Bill won.

This is precisely why O'Reilly fans are idiots. If you don't get Stewart's point, then something is seriously wrong with your brain. There is a disconnect, an inability to grasp basic, elementary logic. It's not an issue of having your judgment clouded by political blinders. It's because they're just plain dumb.

14. Jon was hinting at it, I think....
when he was naming Springsteen, Dylan & Bono...

He should have brought it out though, I would have liked to have seen the buffoon squirm his way out of that one.

edit to add: he did, in fact, bring up Liddy in part two. O'Lielly sure danced around it.

I've seen so many liberals go on O'Reilly and get beat up by his bombastic debate style. I don't think O'Reilly is going to ask Stewart back for a debate anytime soon. Just watched the second part too bad the whole thing was so heavily edited. I wish Stewart would have demanded an unedited debate.

42. Yes it was very edited and not even well. It was like watching a really bad movie
the iced tea moves across the table. In the middle of a line the head suddenly moves - that actually happened a couple of times in these clips.

What is with the 1646 thumbs up and only 303 views ????

(Do the views only update overnight?)

One of the comments:
Bill O'Reilly Ended Up Shutting The Fuck Up, once Jon Stewart started bringing in the FACTS, about other music artists who wrote songs about convicted killers, and ended up in the White House. But I would like to give another note about a Bob Dylan song called George Jackson (a person who served a year to life in San Quentin, and was killed there, and it was brought to attention that he have killed 6 ) THIS IS VERY BRIEF, Y'ALL CAN DO More Research If Y'all Want

24. O'Reilly's racism was blatant.
Fox's "Fear The Black People" propaganda continuum is a given, but Bill just walked right into Jon's call-out of it and Jon didn't even mention race (or if he did, I missed it).

29. Yes this is great but why is it that it is the job of a comedian to do
this analytical job. Does it not point to the paucity of
reasoned and yes aggressive debate on the left.

32. This gets asked a lot. And you know what I say? Let who can do it, do it...
Do we remember when Bush, Sr. was torn apart by Arsenio Hall? That comedian's ragging on the president helped to crash and burn Bush, Sr.

You are certainly right that there should be more aggression from the left, less timidity and fear of what people will think or do if they say such things. But Stewart has the mind, and he's got the opportunity, and it is one entertainer against another. So why not the job of a comedian to do this if he has the opportunity to do it? Sometimes, when comedians champion a cause, they, like musicians, can change the world faster than any politician making an unwatched speech in the senate. Question the timidity of the left, by all means. But leave it up to a comedian? By all means.
