This is a 15-minute tour of the soon to be destroyed Julienne High School building in Dayton, Ohio, which is filled with Italiante architechtural design. Dayton Public Schools has committed to tearing it down if nobody is willing to pay $2.4 million dollars for the structure.

America's destruction of its gems continues unabated.

1. True it is sad.
Still no one wants to put up the money for purchase and upgrade. I think those who feel so strongly should be the first to put fund into saving the building. These beautiful structures need a lot of upgrades to be efficient work space in today's world.

3. In 20-30 years
we'll get to build new buildings to replace the buildings that replaced the good buildings. Thanks Mom and Dad!

2. This country tears down building just a few years old, instead of remodeling them
We do not value history. Compare our architecture with Canada's. Or Europe.

5. If there were a buck to be made
there'd be folks pouring money into these icons of America's glory days. So MANY homes and buildings are going to pass into oblivion thanks to the "third-worlding" that capitolists have foisted upon us. The good wages and bennies we once took for granted are pretty much history since we're being forced to compete with labor prices in poorer countries. And that's NOT going to change.

Look at the lesser wages being given to new hires at our auto makers factories. Recalled workers get what they used to, but new hires have to suck it up - much like they're trying to do with Medicare. All the while, the fat cats get tax breaks so they can be super-wealthy and never get their shoes soiled. Their soles stay clean because they walk on the backs of us peons.
