Another political figure who can't give a straight answer, it seems. Micheal Moore asked a question that I was very interested in knowing the answer to, since I'm one of the lefties he talked about who feel utterly betrayed by Obama.
The long-winded answer, as I am able to decipher, is that if we don't support Obama in '12 we'll be even worse off. What a tired, pathetic crock of shit response.
So once again I'm being asked to vote for someone who does not share my values, who squandered a terrific opportunity to do some grand things (ala FDR) at a moment in our history when the populace turned away from right wing politics in droves, who is willing to bargain away SS and Medicare benefits that belong to the people and are not his to bargain away, who has continued unpopular and immoral wars abroad, and who has moved very clearly to the right in a bid to win over moderates and independents while marginalizing true progressives.
I won't do it, Mr. Axelrod. Fuck Obama, fuck centrist politics, fuck the Democrats in general. I'd rather see a President Bachmann in '12 who I know will screw things up so badly that the resultant pendulum swing should finally allow a true progressive leader to win the White House in '16.
I truly believe that a rebound from a catastrophic Republican presidency is our only hope at this point. Thanks, Obama, for nothing!
