1. The half-uncle is NOT a close relative of President Obama.

Considering that President Obama only saw his own father only a couple of times when he was young, and the guy that was arrested was a half-brother of his father's I see no reason why folks are trying so hard to link the drunk dude to Obama.

President Obama has 'very few' close family members:
wife Michelle, and Michelle's mother
daughters Malia and Sasha
sister Maya and her husband and two children
and an elderly uncle that lives in the NorthWest (brother of Obama's grandfather on his mother's side)

All the of the folks on Obama's father's side of the family Obama barely even knows and most of them he met only once or twice.

He could have sent "The Beast" down to give him a sober ride home, then republicans would have lauded such a noble and sage decision.
