Today - the United States has more people in prison - both as a percentage and in absolute numbers - than any other country in the developed world. And it appears the destructive nature of administering our criminal justice system based on the profit motive plays a huge role in our nation's exploding prison population. A fact that seems to allude Ohio Governor John Kasich. So how worrisome is it that corporate power is now creeping into the commons of our criminal justice system? And what are the consequences?

2. Neither should long-term care facilities be for profit.
As a rule for profits are rated lower and provide poorer care than non-profits.

And, the staff of every long-term care facility in the country needs a union.

3. Wasn't that Judge that was caught sentencing teens for cash
in Ohio? You'd think that would have given them pause or that the Dems in the Congress would have mentioned it?

5. Pennsylvania
Unless I'm thinking of a different case. You're talking about Judge Schiaverella (sp?), right?

4. The drug war is why we have so many people in prison
Plenty of them are incarcerated at technically not-for-profit, state government operated prisons.
