1. Wow, so wrong

This past decade has proven exactly the opposite: that we allow ourselves to respond irrationally, based on fear, by doing shit like starting TWO wars.

I know, it's September 11th; I don't expect him to tell people the hard truth but I wish he'd simply leave comments like this out altogether.

And we don't have trust in each other and we don't believe everyone should have freedom over their own lives. Orwelliian. Did not expect that.

IMHO, the speech sounded like a Hallmark card.

4. Wow, that speech was a load of crap. 9/11 could have been a moment

of reflection, a look inward and outward at our position in the world... Instead the Fear Card was used, religion attacked, American's told to distrust their neighbors and be vigilant for "suspicious activity".

And as far as a nation: We now have a political divide that is as bad as ever. We have representatives who feel want to take away the few safety nets American's have left, and throw them away, privatize them, or garble them up so that they don't even work for the people they were meant to protect. The country is crumbling before our eyes. The wealthy have been ensconced in a bubble where they do not have to give up one item for the good of the nation. We have people losing their very way of life they have always known day after day, while those who can do something about their real pain choose to look the other way with callous hearts and blind eye.

To live in this country, one must wander around with lies distorting reality. Its a wonder we aren't all crazy. Its way past time for the people to reign in those who wish to do the nation harm. But we have to turn off events like 9/11 which pulls on emotions of the day and propagandizing the event.
