1. Meh.

I went to school with Dexter. He's a pretty bright guy, and contrary to the way the poster is trying to play this, I didn't see him plying the bullshit the way Maher was. I like Bill Maher, I enjoy his show, but he doesn't hit it on the mark every time. Just as so many DUers will praise Chris Matthews when he says something we like, but blast him the very next day...Maher has his moments. I find Filkins to usually be on the mark, though. But I admit, maybe it's simply bias for one of my old classmates.

and while I agree with him on a lot, this interview does raise some questions about their world view of "our violence is more righteous than their violence."

5. Bill Maher has an anti-Muslim bias

I rented one of his DVD's that was a tape of one of his shows in which the last segment was a fashion show in which he ridiculed Muslim women's dress. I could not watch the rest of his show...he is very racist.

The poster is right to call him out.

There's NO god in my world and I can not see the validity of idiots living their lives to please that which doesn't exist. I don't care WHICH "religion" you want to promote or protect - it's all bullshit. That's Mahar's whole point (and he makes no bones about it). If one thinks he's mocking Muslims, then that same someone would also find it offensive if I laughed at the slapstick of the Three Stooges. After all, how could I be so unfeeling for poor chaps that are so challenged??? I should only watch them with a box of tissues handy. :crazy:

This is why I'm allergic to Bill Maher. He's such a smug, racist asshole.

He constantly promotes hatred and violence against Muslims and Arabs. When I bring this fact up people don't understand what I'm talking about. I presume it's because they agree with him and don't see anything wrong with what he says.
