1. They've issued an apology and said it was 'unintentional'
but it may take a little while to fix. I wonder how many people didn't find out about the 'occupation' as a result of that.

Twitter has been messing with the system also, what should be trending considering how many tweets it's had, over 1.3 million on 48 hours, it should be trending, but apparently is not. So far, no comment from twitter.

3. can you come up with any kind of explanation of how that could
happen unintentionally?

the exact same email... the only difference is it has a URL to the website in it.

in order for that to happen, someone had to specifically write a line of code to block that and spit back an error message.

the only good thing about this is... it's going to backfire. when people start to realize it's being blocked, it's going to garner more attention than it would have if they had just let it go in the first place.

5. No, I didn't say I believed them, but after Think Progress and
others proved it was happening, Yahoo DID issue a statement. I posted a link to the statement in this OP http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1973639 if you go to the bottom of the OP.

Personally, I don't believe them. They succeeded probably in preventing untold numbers of people from hearing about and going to the protests on the weekend.

But that is their story after they were caught. Twitter needs to explain also why the hashtag #ocupywallstreet is not trending but so far have made no statement. That tag was tweeted 1.3 million times in 48 hours and should have been trending, easily. As far as I know with so many more added to that now, it is still not doing so.

I am glad the protesters are taking not of all these things and each night at their Assembly meeting coming up with ideas of how to get around the efforts to stop them from succeeding.

But, while it is upsetting, it does prove what many have been thinking and validates the reason the protesters are doing what they are doing, that Corporate America is not on the side of the people, and they have coopted our civilian police departments also, who are obviously working for them also.

We waited for too long to start a movement against all of this. I hope the one that has begun on Wall St. will be a beginning of a huge movement to put an end to the takeover of this country.

9. They lied.
I have Yahoo DSL and use their e-mail. They are constantly messing with my e-mail depending on the content. There is no question they are filtering e-mail based on political content.

8. Yahoo is fucking with me too.
Isn't this illegal?

Leading up the the 2010 election most all my political e-mail ended up in my "spam" folder. Now ordinarily some of my political e-mail ends up in my spam folder but the change was unmistakable. Yahoo is Republican filth.

13. I Doubt It Is Yahoo
I've had all kinds of email weirdness happen on different accounts over the past decade. I think the "filter" is between the user and Yahoo. I think it's a government agency.

In any case, it's very real.

16. Exactly
Merely saying "its some kind of government thing" is a bypass away from the real corporate criminals and cronies. Reading Yahoo news clips there is a pattern of an odd tilt in their media selection. Yahoo has done this kind of thing before.

17. Using Yahoo as if it were a legitimate mail system is the first and only..
problem. Really, the reliability and consistency of Yahoo has always been sub-par.

Yahoo is among the worst of free email services in the world.
