Medicare needs some serious fixes. Ask any hospital or doctor's accountant, and you will have 20 serious ideas that will save money, improve care, and make the profession's task much easier.

4. A public option would have been helpful in fixing the root core of the problem |
|
which is of course tremendously overinflated prices for treatment and drugs. But the Republicans blocked any talk of a public option during the health care debate, telling President Obama a flat no.

7. A public option is probably the only way the cost of medical care will go down in the U.S. |
|
Nothing else will work until then.

6. Agreed. But should we really be "fixing" Medicare in the context of deficit reduction? |
|
Then all we get are cuts, not improvements.

2. Yes it is that simple, the proposed cuts will hurt those that are most vulnerable |
|
I realize that people are telling the lie that they want to fix abuse of the system, but the proposals themselves reveal that for the lie it is.
Cuts in the disguise of reform are still cuts. all lying aside.
