3. Did he make his $ exploiting others?
There is nothing wrong with making money, its how you do it. He has brought a voice to many.

6. What did he do wrong, make money, make great progressive films, took the time to care?
Edited on Mon Sep-26-11 10:19 PM by LaPera
Or is it that he happens to agree 100% with the protesters or that he wants to give support & encouragement to the people protesting?

What the fuck have you ever done? But I'm sure you're at least a good guy?

12. Examine your motives. What drives your animus here?
Think about what Moore did that made money. Think about the implications of broad brush thinking.

18. HELLO!
You seem to be a bit blinded to subtly in discourse. I'm parroting the Republican attitude towards Obama, of course.

Actually, running the USA should be a woman's job,
because men have horrid hormonal imbalances that cause violence, death, and mayhem

10. Here's the text of Moore's public speech :::
Edited on Tue Sep-27-11 06:32 AM by vets74
I am so impressed by what I'm seeing here. You have done something very important and very historic. It had to happen somewhere it might as well has been here. Millions of Americans have suffered as a result of the decisions made by the people in these buildings. My own personal two cents: I want to see the people responsible for destroying the lives of millions of people in handcuffs. It time to make them pay. Tax them. How much? Still not enough. They are trying to take our democracy and turn it into a kleptocracy.

The 400 riches Americans own more then the bottom 250 million Americans. They're afraid of one basic thing... there are only 400 of them. There are 250 million of us. What happens when 400 people are pitted against 250 million people? You don't have to follow sports to understand that game.

I just got back to NY 12 hours ago and I wanted to get down here as soon as I could. It warms my heart to see all of you here! I know each and every one of you represents another thousand and another thousand more. Do not be scared because there only a few hundred here right now. This month for the first time 54% of the American public is with you. This is the hard part right now. But everyone will remember. Three months from now, six months from now, one hundred years from now that you came down to this plaza and you started this movement. I am honored to be in your presence.

11. Brookfield Financial owns the park. How's for "Brookfield Park" to be accurate ?
Odd that's not public property. But New York has much odder things.

Brookfield Financial Properties

They did $15-billion in deals last quarter. O.K., fine. Politics unknown.

Not a big firm. Very, very typically rich.

In the George Anderson Era -- beginning 2008 where Wall Street has immunity from felony prosecution -- you would figure that PR calculations will determine BFP actions. Of course who would have thought that Fox/Murdoch would interview Michael Moore on its local Channel 5 outlet ?

14. For those wondering why everyone repeats back phrases of the speech...
The protesters are not allowed any microphones or amplifying equipment. In order for the many to hear the words, everyone repeats in unison the phrases so all can hear.

People power in action.

19. Good to know.
Again for this almost sixty year old, it is so great to see young people out there protesting.

And many of these people were only in seventh or eighth grade when Bush the Younger came into power. They have lived in a nation with more propaganda and meaningless news feed than any other generation.

But in the end, the truth comes out.

21. All the "double talk" is annoying to listen to.
I'm sure it was fun...and God knows they need some entertainment while they are putting up the good fight...but it's annoying to listen to.

I think Wall Street is going to just ignore them until winter comes and forces them to be quiet or leave. I hope it grows from there...somehow. Wish I lived closer to NYC.....for the moment.
