1. As ususal, Seder nails it. This is especially true of people like Ron Paul.

People like Paul sound peachy-keen in little soundbytes. I mean who doesn't like "Stop the wars!", right? Any deeper exploration, though, and the really disturbing stuff starts to surface.

2. Exactly right. But I would go even further than Sam does, (although I love him)

I would say, talk to any Republican candidate on any number of issues, in a real back and forth question and answer conversation, and there's NONE of them that make any sense.

Some of them, like Bat Shit Crazy, Bachmann, Cain, and Perry, are obvious without bothering to start the conversation.

Others, Gingrich, Google-able Santorum, etc hard to tell without that 20 minute conversation with them.


Then, the ONLY person sane enough to be President for the next four years becomes obvious, Barack Obama, imperfect and limp spined that he is, he's the only sane person out there, and he DID actually keep our nation from going into a total worldwide financial melt-down.

3. I basically agree- it's just that Obama kowtows SO MUCH that it's difficult to...

...draw a line that clearly separates him from the Repukes. But you're right, I think. I have to say, I normally don't bother watching Republican debates- it's just pointless- but I did catch part of one and they're just imbeciles. I can't believe how incredibly imbecilic they are.
