In this week’s address, President Obama spoke from the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego during Veterans Day, and he called on all Americans to rededicate themselves to serving our brave men and women in uniform as well as they have served us. Today, there are more than 850,000 veterans unemployed, which is why the President issued a challenge to private companies to hire or train more than 100,000 post-9/11 veterans or their spouses by 2013, and he was pleased to see the Senate pass proposals in his American Jobs Act on Thursday to give businesses tax credits for hiring veterans. President Obama told veterans that just as they have fought for us, he will continue to fight for jobs and opportunities for them, and that the United States will always honor their service and sacrifice.

1. Wow, I don't like the Air Force One, fighter pilot jacket on.
Reminds me too much of Bush pandering to people.

2. Yes to reminiscent of the GW jump suit. And an overly posed scene, over all.

6. I didn't say he didn't have the right to wear it, I just said I don't
like the photo op, staged look of the entire address... It reminds me of Bush on the carrier with the Mission Accomplished photo... Let's face it, Bush ruined a lot for a lot of people. I guess we can't ever really go back to sleep and pretend we live in a free and fair nation. The blinders are off and staged anything feels phony.

7. Actually this was NOTHING like the bushco carrier op
No banners, no captive audience, no crowing about the war being won. No press, not a photo op.

Just a simple statement from prez about what he want's to do for returning veterans. And considering the rate of suicide for veterans, this is important.

8. and this is your opinion vs my opinion of the look of the address.
I wasn't talking about the actual words of the address. And fancy words are getting a bit tired. I'm glad he's really focusing hard on the jobs now... and that he's taking interest in the veterans who have been stuck fighting wars that there was no need of.

My only hope is that we get a strong progressive, liberal congress and senate, and that the business of the people finally begins to get done.
