I was looking at the Anon piece re: OWS/NYPD/Bloomberg and got caught up in watching more vids on YouTube. I thought this one was interesting, so thought I'd post. IMO, well done.

1. They do indeed talk a good game

A shame they are no more then script kiddies and cannot actually back it up.

2. Ask Master Card, Visa, HBGary, the government of Malaysia

if they thing they "cannot actually back it up".

This message isn't saying they're going to change the world, this message says it's up to all of us to change the world.

We need to be the ones to back it up.

3. DDOS attacks?

Exploiting commonly known security holes? They have done nothing to deserve the title of "hacker". Bringing down a website for a few minutes is not backing up anything. Lately, they have not even been able to do that.

I did say they talk a good game but without anything to back their continual threats, they won't get many new followers and the ones they have will dwindle. If they stuck to making videos and removed the threats, they would not have to worry about loosing credibility because they do make some very moving videos.

6. I especially liked the message of this video.

To people like me, 'exploiting commonly know security holes' is pretty impressive. Especially when it freezes MC, et al, for even a little while.

I can understand something you know little about impressing you, we all have those things. What about their numerous claims that never turn into anything though?

9. Again, I understand the points you're making, but again,

I have to say that if all they did was briefly shut down some behemoths and make the head of HB Gary resign, they've accomplished more than I would have hoped for.

Don't know who is making the claims or why some don't come to fruition, but nobody bats a thousand. At the very least they're calling attention to issues that need to be exposed.

And, they (some of them) make some really good videos! :7 Maybe they should get out of the hacking biz and start a production company.

4. Just ideas?

Well, despite what has actually been done and the movements going on, keep in mind that almost everything around you came from ideas in the minds of others.

Your car? The bridge you drove across? The home or building you live in. The electricity you use and all those devices? None of them were there a couple of hundred years ago. Where did they come from? How did they become real for you?

Besides, it is not just about "them". It is about a spark that has ignited. Be a part of fanning it and fostering a new, blazing lamp of liberty that will clear the way for an growing wave of freedom and justice, or ignore it or try to stamp it out. It is about all of us who are affected by what our system has come to and the future of life on this planet.

Who is next?

If you are comfortable and complacent right now, then you might pass on this, even if you have been having misgivings about your own security in the long-run, should the systematic debacle continue as it has.

If you are becoming tattered and fatigued, struggling on the edge, you may want to count your self amongst those who are arising across the globe, but feel too impoverished in mind, body and spirit to participate. Struggling to get by can be a full-time job.

Yet, all of us can start somewhere, can we not? Start with understanding the scope and nature of the problem that we must grapple with for survival in so many ways, from the viability of the planet to the viability of each human life. If you feel and think as separate from all of it, then nobody needs to tell you what might be the problem with that sense of culture-induced isolation from what you depend on to live.

Start small--as tiny as you might need to in your busy, consuming day. Not starting somewhere, sadly, might be a form of complacent compliance with what serves to create, reinforce and force the oppressive machine that is steamrolling over the dignity and meaning of humanity on a course that will defile what is natural and enslave, cage and control what is meant to be free.
