The Protect IP Act- we've spoken about it many times on the show. It's Congress's way of telling the RIAA they care. While the RIAA has stopped suing individual copyright infringers, they have NOT stopped their efforts in lobbying congress to pass the Protect IP Act, which would allow U.S. authorities and copyright holders the power to seize domains, block websites and censor search engines to prevent copyright infringements.
But now a new industry survey out of Sweden identified a program that is actually deterring piracy, without the draconian laws the RIAA claims are necessary to crack down on the evil practice. We know you've probably heard of Pandora radio, but there's a newer program that streams music called Spotify, which was founded in Sweden and has just hit the US.
