Occupy Wall Street protesters interrupted Obama's job speech at a high school in Manchester, New Hampshire. They started shouting their statement and had been cut off by Obama supporters. Entire OWS statement was passed to reporters: "Over 4000 peaceful protesters have been arrested. While bankers continue to destroy the American economy. You must stop the assault on our 1st amendment rights. Your silence sends a message that police brutality is acceptable. Banks got bailed out. We got sold out."

I want to rec on reason of the people trying to get through to the President, but I does it matter WHO the "mic check" goes to? The people need to be heard. The President needs to do his job and let the people know he hears them. This is very frustrating on two fronts...

7. I hope he heard. The Egyptian revolutionaries are noticing

a difference in the statements from the US regarding the brutal and deadly attacks by the Military government there, and the much more supportive ones made earlier when Mubarak was about to fall.

This time the US is using the 'moral equivalency' tool advising 'both sides to refrain from violence'. All this has done is to anger people since over 4,000 protesters have been wounded so far and over 30 killed, there is no doubt who is responsible for the violence.

But as the Egyptians know, people no longer able to be fooled, the 'West' supports this brutal military and only condemned the violence last time, (remember the US was making similar statements then too until they were assured that losing Mubarak would not lose them their allies in Egypt) after it became clear that the fall of Mubarak wouldn't change much for the people there.

So no moral equivalency statements about the police brutality here will work either. The situation is clear, all the violence is coming from the police and someone needs to stop it before it is too late.

All this protesting is becomming a waste of time and is pissing off other citizens who want to use those public spaces. They should have weekly rallies and organize into a viable political entity with some focus and credibility. Either do that, or end up nowhere. It is just going to keep pissing people off who they don't want to piss off, and they are going to be thought of as a bunch of fringe whackos. The big business guys don't care if they protest until the cows come home. Either organize politically, or all the marches and drum beating won't amount to a piss hole in a snowbank.
