Richard Eskow, Campaign for America's Future joins Thom Hartmann. Another week - another vote on Capitol Hill - another Republican hostage crisis. But this round of deja vu is going to cost your family $1,500 in the new year. So are Republicans willing to let taxes go up on the middle class just to protect tax cuts for the millionaires and billionaires? If so - they may want to consider this little factoid brought to us by the National Priorities Project. The average Bush tax cut in 2011 for a taxpayer in the richest one percent is GREATER than the average income of the other 99 percent. Thanks to Bush - 1%ers - on average -received $66,384 in tax cuts last year. The average household income of the 99% is just $58,506 and the average individual income is about half that. On top of that - the NPP pointed out that the Bush tax cuts cost far more in federal debt than in economic stimulation.
