1. Traveling is becoming more and more risky. Even if you make it past the TSA
you might not make it past the next level of interpretation to your threatness....

3. We are already winning the 'war on terror', so where is all this coming from lately?
So who is instigating all these new rules lately? Indefinite detention, the right of the government to kill anyone anytime anywhere if they accuse them of 'terror' first, I don't understand where all this is coming from.

By my count we are already winning the war on terror. Obama had better veto this, but I'm not even sure they won't override the veto. Didn't the Defense Auth Act pass with like 92 or 93 votes? Why is all this coming up right now?

The military isn't even requesting this are they? Who is driving this ?

6. The War on Terror is over....
We are now in the War of Terror.

Make no mistake, this is a death match between the 1% and the 99%.
This police state crap lays the groundwork for protecting the rich from the rest of us.
I think that the rich will retreat to enclaves all over the world and leave the world's population to collapse except for the personnel necessary to maintain the rich's way of life.

Cenk, what if the president dislikes someone and gives the order for its detention, take him outside US and soot him? Under this law it would be legal. That way the government can dispose of anyone. Reporters, leaders of any kind of movement, workers leaders,....and you and me.

9. If the President does it, it must be legal
Compelling precedent made by that great legal thinker, Richard Milhous Nixon.

10. This is a central issue that is being swept under the rug of the M$M...
How can you identify an issue that is of vital importance to our future and to our rights (even as they are being strip mined away)?

Simple really. Try to find it on the Main$tream Media outlets. Don't bother with Fox...thats just if you want to check up on Frank Luntz's most recent talking points (or if you like bad acting of bubbleheads and himbos reading copy like wooden puppets).

Look at CNN, CNBC, MSNBC and the original 3 networks (ABC, CBS, NBC). If they are not too busy with the "human interest fluff pieces" (ie. - the "Hey LOOK! SHINY THINGS!" portion of the programming), then they are VERY busy roundly ignoring the most vital news and information of the age:

Look for stories that detail global climate change, global currency wars and their future impact, global protests of the Occupy movement and of independent movements in places like Syria, Egypt and Iran. Look for reporting on the Federal Reserve and the culprits there who are STILL walking around like nothing happened after the largest heist in human history. Look for details on the candidates actual views.

But most telling of all, and the most unbelievable, look for stories about the abuse of power and corruption of American government. You won't find ANYTHING of consequence. Woodward and Bernstein are muzzled and the Nixon philosophy holds sway. Whether in service of the top 1% or just for megalomania in a general sense, the days of the investigative reporters actually breaking stories and leading to reform are over. He are on our own, and make no mistake they are trying to find ways to shut down places like DU as well and they wish it could happen yesterday!
