Occupy Melbourne Day 52 - Tent Monster Sarah has her clothing/political statement ripped off her in full public view at 8:30am this morning. This is a clear violation of The Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities, from the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission... may I quote;

"Freedom of thought, conscience, religion and belief (section 14)
People have the freedom to think and believe what they want, for example, religion. They can do this in public or private, as part of a group or alone."

Would you not say political belief could be an example? Definitely. Absolutely.

Yet wearing a reconditioned tent is clearly seen my Melbourne City Council and Victoria Police acting on their behalf, as an invalid form of political expression. For those of those that slept under the stars, the Melbourne City Council were present all night and repeatedly woke us up, shining torches in our faces as we slept.

This is beyond farcical. They have had their chance to address our basic human rights to protest, but they continuously abuse our ability to do so. We need basic amenities. We also need sleep! We will not stop. We will never give up. We have a world to win.
