And I hope to do it to several more advertisers for shows that I frequently watch, like Heroes, TDS, Colbert, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Iron Chef America... etc... And I hope other people will do it too.
This message is sent in solidarity with the current strike of the Writer's Guild of America.
Until the strike is ended and the Writer's Guild's demands have been met, I will not watch any television programs from any stations affiliated with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. I will also refuse to purchase any products that are advertised on these networks, and I will be working to convince all of my friends and family to join me in this.
Nissan is one of the most prominent advertisers of NBC's popular TV drama "Heroes"--and Nissan is, for that reason, included.
The actions of the AMPTP reflect poorly on NBC, and NBC's actions reflect poorly on Nissan. I urge you to either withdraw all advertising from AMPTP-affiliated television stations for the duration of the strike, or to exert pressure on those stations to bring about an equitable solution.
Until that time, I will be urging all my friends and family not to consider purchasing any Nissan vehicles.
Thank you.
We can't just go after the stations. We have to go after the advertisers too. The stations need to have the advertisers calling them and saying "end the strike or we're not buying any more ads."
