But he didn't deny global warming. He said that action on global warming should be scientifically sound.
A lot of developing countries could face set-backs due to the need to reduce greenhouse emissions. If we do "X" to combat global warming, and "X" inhibits improvements in the developing world, then "X" should be something scientifically sound, and not a feel-good measure promoted by people who think that all industrialization is bad.
That's what the Pope said. Furthermore, he has
promoted concern about global warming.
Is there anyone here who thinks that the Pope's call for global warming solutions to be based in science is
wrong? I mean
really!?
Usually I love these Headzup cartoons, but this one trashing the Pope is offensive (IMO). Good satire is based in truth and this completely distorts Pope B16's
actual record on this issue. Here:
At a Vatican conference on climate change, Pope Benedict urged bishops, scientists and politicians - including UK environment secretary David Miliband - to "respect creation" while "focusing on the needs of sustainable development".
The Pope's message follows a series of increasingly strong statements about climate change and the environment, including a warning earlier this year that "disregard for the environment always harms human coexistence, and vice versa".
