2. Their conservativism forces them into closets.

If they were liberals, then they COULD come out and say okay, I'm (fill in the blank). But the conservatives they choose to affiliate with detest them for their "perversions," so they can't. Do you think he would have gotten nominated to the bench if Bush had known he was a cross-dresser?

I feel sorry for them, too. They're victims of their own party's hate-mongering.

3. What makes anyone think

Bush wouldn't appoint a cross dressing drunk to the federal bench? No one said if he was wearing perfume.

4. That's the important part here

not the cross dressing. While it's funny, the serious issue is the absurd level of hypocrisy that's revealed about so many people supposedly behind "values".

my mind immediately raced to Scalea, then to the rest of the Pugs on the Supreme court as all fit the profile of self loathing closet cases but Scalea really fits the profile to a tee. My bad
