http://www.aspiesforfreedom.com/showthread.php?tid=17190

Neuronazi (n): 1. A person that believes everyone's behavioral, intellectual, and/or mental abilities should fall within a narrow set of parameters; 2. A neuro-typical person that strives to make everyone else as normal as he or she is; 3. A person that considers certain opinions, thoughts, and beliefs to be the only correct ones; 4. A person that believes that anyone who differs from a narrowly-defined set of behavioral characteristics is somehow defective and should be cured (if possible) or institutionalised (if necessary).

1. My mother used to be one of those
She got better, though.

Only recently has it dawned on me that she and my sister are on the spectrum, but they pass for neurotypical. No wonder they used to freak out and scream at me all the time - being in the closet is very stressful, and here I was not even bothering to go in. (And it never occurred to either of them that I can't, until recently.) To make matters worse, male family members were never pressured to pass.

Fortunately, my niece doesn't have to go through all that. Her broken aunt serves as a living reminder that no, harassment does not cure ASD.
