Just curious as to what this group thinks
about the whole "punchbug/slugbug" GAME (and commercial...)

I'm not getting much traction with the NT's...

I KNOW I'm not off-base in talking about abused kids being victims of it and bullies who use this "game" to hit people, but

I'm wondering if I'm off-base in saying that some kids just won't "get" why it is someone is hitting them.... a lot of the spectrum kids I know would have a very difficult time with it.

1. The "punch-buggy" game is just stupid and childish

2. yes, yes it is. . .
but I'm trying to get some specific feed-back from the non-nt's of the world. I can't seem to get through to those who think it's just a "fun game" - a no-harm/no-foul type of behaviour. In my experience, it may be "fun" for some, but it most definitely isn't "fun" for others. I'm trying to find out if others on the spectrum have these same types of reservations or am I being "overly sensitive" and "overly protective"?

3. Non-NT?
You mean people on the autistic scale? I'm one: high-finctioning autistic.

4. yes -
nt's = neurotypical (you probably know that, but then again, maybe you haven't heard - or others wandering into thisi group may not know it - it so I feel compelled to spell it out...)

non-nt's - people on the "spectrum"...

I guess my question to you is, beyond "stupid and childish", do you think it could be construed as "harmful" to some kids?

5. No. I think most kids have some restraint.
My friends did when we played the game.

6. i'm thinking being more on the receiving end
I know some kids who'd be terrified . . . and some who would - um - respond quite badly to being "punched", in fun or otherwise.
