Aspie grandson

After extensive testing by the National Health Service (U.K.), our six-year-old grandson was diagnosed with autism this spring. He's most likely an Aspie - seems to have a photographic memory, focuses all his energy on dinosaurs, natural history, at four was drawing diagrams of the seven stages of evolution.

He understands that he is an Aspie - they've talked to him about it. He can be very difficult, does such things as pulling his pants down and pooping in the bushes while they're at the park, which is right across the street from their house. Is this typical Aspie behavior or is something else going on?

There is nothing I can do to help since they live in England and I live in New Mexico, but I talk to my daughter every day and I can pass on any advice/direction any of you can share. Thanks.

1. This does sound like Aspie related behavior.

My son was very delayed in this area as well as in speech.

It's important to find a good school for him, where he will have
access to many subjects, a low teacher/aide to student ratio
and a good psychologist.

I wish him the best.
With lots of encouragement and the right resources, he can do very well.
