I suggest that we start posting on this site, the good work done by this Administration.....
We need a one stop place where the threads evidencing that this Administration is progressive and is working to march us forward are easily accessible, and do not vanish down into the world of page 2 on the larger forums.

I also suggest that we need to post a week's worth of activity from this administration as a response to those who see one thing not going exactly how they want it and post that as their "justification" for hating on the Obama Administration. The truth is for one thing that isn't well received, this administration does 10 things that are truly a step in the correct direction.

We have to keep a reality check out there for those who have a tendency to only look for the negative as well as those who are into hyperbole.

Here's the list for last week, while he was on vacation:

3. I think we have to start dealing with the 2010 elections......
combatting the issues raised by Republicans,
by contacting the media to provide opposing facts,
and slap down stories with a GOP pov.

Of course, I can always post that media list I have,
and we could concentrate on organizing ourselves to
being able to send a small avalanche of emails to media
and congressional sources,
when certain television and print personalities get
totally out of line in their reporting.

The fact is not as many viewers/readers complain to the media as we would assume,
and it does make a difference when they are called out on
certain bullshit they try to promote. If they see that it has angered
80 people, they quickly do the math, understanding that only maybe 1% of those
who read or watch them will respond by actually writing and/or calling.
If they compute that even 15-20% of viewers/readers totally disagree with their take,
they will think harder at what they are doing, because they will understand that enough
see through them.

I think this group could be used for such positive action,
because lord knows the larger forums aren't good at anykind of organizing
for the good of the country so much as for the purpose of loudly complaining
about this administration and hoping that the media picks up their mood and report on it
.....which the media quite happy to comply, especially if it makes this President look bad.

15. You are right. Another problem is you have sites such as huffington post who constantly
bash Obama. They did the same thing with Hillary, and Democrats in general just to stir up the pot

I am confident that we will retain the majority in both the House and the Senate in 2010, and the nonsense that the MSM and others are trying to spread that the Democrats are in trouble in 2010, is hogwash

In fact, if employers start hiring, we will win big time. A lot can happen in a year

22. Another vital type of information that's
necessary when supporting the Obama Admin.. "Media Contacts"! Your Action List is huge but we could add to it as necessary.. Newcomers since your list who will need to be contacted as the propaganda unfolds.

Muy Importante!

for the homeless, that there was a poster running around DU saying that "Obama hasn't said ONE THING about the homeless in this country?"

I'm not talking about a few days later. The SAME DAMN DAY.

To have blinders on one's eyes and mufflers on one's ears that damn thick and tight must take a HELL of an effort.

5. That is exactly the problem
Number23.......some spend all of their efforts to tear down this Democratic Administration,
rather than to promote it, and the good things it is doing.

It is quite destructive to this nation,
and I don't quite understand the level of intensity used to do so.

If we are the ones that we are supposed to be waiting for,
we might as well go ahead and leave already,
cause there are some who just aren't gonna show up.

A little info that didn't make it into the MSM: my daughter is a civil engineer
for a county in Upstate New york. Last night she showed us a dvd explaining the need to rebuild water systems, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems throughout the US. (What can I say, my family's picture is in the dictionary under Nerd)

Any how, after an hour and a half of looking at all the work that needs to be done, she told us that the Stimulus Bill has a lot of funds for this squirreled away in the fine print.

People are enraged over a health care bill that didn't meet expectations regarding health insurance. There are a lot of good things happening below the radar. I say, give the man a chance. He's fixing things that have been broken for 50 years!"

29. A family of nerds is not a bad thing to be. Proud to be in one.
My son who works in the media says that people who say that Barack is doing nothing don't know what they are talking about. He says there are things that are not getting the attention they deserve but if people looked for them they would know the truth. Before anyone asks, he does not have the power to make a difference in the media, is not even allowed to support a politician (had to take his Obama bumper sticker off his car)and works for a paper that like most of them is controlled by the right (Editor and up) with the staff mostly being left leaning.

32. The idea is to presnt an unbiased account of the news.
Of course it is the minion that must keep themselves unbiased, while those in powered take the paper/network in the direction they want and that is usually to the right. And that is why the media calls the media left-winged biased. ;)

"Interior Curbs Oil and Gas Lease Streamlining, Expands Reviews"

<snips>

"The previous administration's 'anywhere, anyhow' policy on oil and gas development ran afoul of communities, carved up the landscape, and fueled costly conflicts that created uncertainty for investors and industry," Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said in a statement. "We need a fresh look -- from inside the federal government and from outside -- at how we can better manage Americans' energy resources."

The new policy will require a more detailed environmental review prior to leasing oil and natural gas on public lands. The Bureau of Land Management will engage the public in developing master leasing and development plans before leasing areas where intensive new oil and gas development is anticipated, it said. Interior said the intent is to fully consider other important natural resource values prior to making an irreversible commitment to develop an area.

Interior will also require a comprehensive parcel review process that takes a site-specific approach to individual lease sales. Each potential lease sale will undergo increased internal and external coordination, public participation, interdisciplinary review of available information, confirmation of resource management plan conformance, and national, state and local guidance, as well as site visits to parcels when necessary to supplement or validate existing data.

"250 Million to improve Math and Science Education"

"Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama announced Wednesday a $250 million public-private initiative designed to improve national math and science education.

Specifically, the money will be used to promote five new partnerships intended to help train over 10,000 new math and science teachers over the next five years. It will also be used to support the professional development of more than 100,000 current math, science, technology and engineering teachers, according to the White House.

The new funding builds on Obama's math and science "Educate to Innovate Campaign," which was announced last November. Several large companies, including Intel, Xerox, Kodak and Time Warner Cable have already pledged $260 million to the effort."
