Okay.. talking to Democrats in real life this morning..My 2010 things to avoid
And we were all over the map during the primaries.. Clinton, Obama, Edwards.. my son headed up the Biden group at caucus..

Not one of them has lost one iota of support for the President.

Not one..

So it is always good to visit with your local party people for coffee.. Because a few minutes in GD can give you a really eschewed view of things

So there is only one thing left to do.. figure out what to avoid in 2010 to keep life in general more harmonious.

Besides negativity not for criticism but for destruction... (number one on my list), the second thing I am going to avoid at all costs is

Reality TV.

We are becoming a nation of cotton between the ears because of reality TV.. (that is number two)and that is a consensus from the Democrats at morning coffee

:hi:

that the blogsphere is great for getting one's dose of blovaiting, but not a good reflecton of what America is thinking.

3. Yep, it is good to keep in touch with people who actually knock on doors and pull levers
when it is time to vote..

2. None of the people who caucused for Obama here have abandoned ship, either.
And our local party is fully on board. Even my independent friend is a very strong supporter. She had liked Edwards in the beginning but changed her mind even before he withdrew.

So I agree with you totally.

6. Yep. And we're all excited about doing it again. We tend to help
the state party out a lot since our particular district is a VERY red one. So we go where we can do the most good, including presidential campaigning. It's a beautiful thing.

5. My local Dems are like DU live
So there are active Democrats out there who are further left on the spectrum. I don't think all Democrats in town are like that, but if they're like me, they've been drowned out by about ten very vocal people. So count yourself lucky to have some sanity somewhere.

7. I am so sorry to hear that.. But the longer I hang out in DU, the more liberal Iowa seems
Liberal in the ability to listen to all sides.. We had to fight the hard fight when the President first came out.. even among ourselves sometimes.. (we had that he is a secret Muslim meme come from one of our own in another campaign) his name even.. oh my gosh.. rev wright, you name it we were hit with it..but we all came together.. and have stayed together ever since.

I have some thoughts about how easily people who came in at the end, so easily jumped ship.. Something was just not right about that..

Some of the Presidents biggest supporters locally.. (well we all are) is the former Clinton campaign people.

Go figure
