I wrote this diary last night. It's still on the Rec List, although probably not for much longer. Thought y'all might like it:

I really enjoyed reading it all but I am curious about one thing and that is there is no mention of the Dominican Republic in any of this. As you probably know the DR shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti and so were the first to arrive there with relief aid. This seems only logical but when you understand the history of the two countries it is an important factor.

I am curious if or why they were not the first government Obama contacted since they were the first ones to send out video of the devastation to the world, and they were the first of everything to arrive at the scene. Their military was at the airport within hours of the earthquake to secure it and do what was needed to keep it operational. (I saw this part on CNN news) Below is a link to an article you might find interesting. I posted it here last night but one thing I did not put in my post was this quote. "Among the aid are 10 mobile cafeterias that can produce 100,000 meals a day, and heavy equipment to remove debris, Diaz Rua said." Do you not think the 10 cafeterias might help prepare all that food the USA is sending. ;)

I took a look at some of the comments to see the response. I don't see how anyone could forget W. because he was a horrible
