I am have some trouble getting my arms around these, whatever they are, and I feel like I am missing some significance somewhere. I am sure I have left something out of my list but I think there is some unity to this that troubles me.
On the one hand we have our president and the Democratic Party. On the other we have certain forces that seem to be lining up against our president and the Democratic Party even though these forces have almost nothing in common and they would sooner kill each other than cooperate. There is just something wrong with this picture.
"Conservatives" are engaged in persistent obstructionism. I can understand this to some extent. Politically, Republicans obstruct in an effort to deny Democrats any legislative victory, and they're backed by moneyed interests who oppose what the majority of us want. So their obstructionism is a unified political strategy combined with that moneyed interest? I think?
I'm having trouble believing that people who care about this country would forsake WE, THE PEOPLE so thoroughly.
And then there's the alleged lefties who think what? They think Obama is selling out to the obstructionists? These people I do not understand at all.
Sorry for the disjointed post here, and if I have failed to adequately articulate my confusion. To me it's just very simple: we have problems and we work together to fix those problems. I'm having trouble understanding everything else.
