OFA on Massachusetts~
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 11:54 PM by Cha
I know you all got one but I want it out here in the BOG~

I read a post saying they were going to unsubscribe to OFA and I say do what you want but there are many of us who are in this for the long haul..not fair weather progressives/liberals.

Cha --

Yesterday's disappointing election results show deep discontent with the pace of change. I know the OFA community and the President share that frustration.

We also saw what we knew to be true all along: Any change worth making is hard and will be fought at every turn. While it doesn't take away the sting of this loss, there is no road to real change without setbacks along the way.

We could have simply sought to do things that were easy, that wouldn't stir up controversy. But changes that aren't controversial rarely solve the problem.

Our country continues to face the same fundamental challenges it faced yesterday. Our health care system still needs reform. Wall Street still needs to be held accountable. We still need to create good jobs. And we still need to continue building a clean energy economy.

The President isn't walking away from these challenges. In fact, his determination and resolve are only stronger. We must match that commitment with our own.

But it won't be easy. Real change never is. For that reason, I am grateful you're part of this fight with us.

Thank you,

Mitch

Can't say what I'm thinking because I don't want to get the thread locked.

(Read my mind)

Psychic line:smoke:

The bog is very helpful to get my frustrations out without "wasting" my time replying to those who have given up.

4. Good message, but why can't the truth simply be told.

1) Let's face it, Martha Coakley ran an incompetent, uninspiring campaign
2) There is still apparently no shortage of human beings chomping at the bit to give their votes to lying, coarse, bigoted GOP assclowns, as long as the assclowns are "charming."

This race can be analyzed to death, but there it is. It not so much about "populist anger" as it is about people with short memories falling for a line of complete bull and MA DOES NOT represent the entire country.

Edited to add: I know they can't really say that in OFA's letter, but I think too much credence is being given to Brown's disingenuous campaign; I really think a stronger candidate on our side would have made a big difference in how things turned out.
