Amazingly this lie about Democrats being Republicans has traction on the other forums. I just had it barfed up on me a minute ago and I had to tell this person that if their memory is so short and they're that stupid to believe this then they were hopelessly lost forever.
This is notion is so ridiculous I don't even know where to begin to argue against it. Should I even argue against it? It's not even worthy of a counter-argument as far as I'm concerned, but there it is, pissing me off to no end.
How do we best deal with this disinformation?

I don't even try anymore to change their minds.

2. You're right about leopards never changing their spots, but the "argument" is out there |
|
It should be countered. No?

from dealing with people on DU that claim they are Democrats and don't support our party.
I don't mean that I have stopped writing leaders to Democratic Leaders and letting them know my thoughts.
I will continue to donate to Democrats that I want to encfourage and I will work day and night giving time to campaigns.
When I can actually see their faces and not their printed words and a made up name, I will challenge them in a heartbeat.

3. One could point to the horrible Supreme Court ruling that just came out |
|
and point out which side the Republican and Democratic appointees came down on the issue. One could remind people of the hell we lived under during the Bush years. Beyond that there are going to be the same Naderites that mislead the nation in 2000 and are hoping 10 years is enough time for people to forget how badly they mislead us then.

5. That's one of my litmus tests |

for disruptors.
Anyone who says that is either a troll or too stupid to live - too easily led and can be led another way just as easily.
The SCOTUS alone is enough to want a Democratic President/Congress.
