I'm out of crunchy peanut butter. MY COUNTRY IS NOW DEAD!
That seems to be the latest Chicken Little line.

The Supremes' decision is being blamed on Obama. The Coakley debacle is being blamed on Obama. The fact that bankers are, by nature, greedy fucknuts is being blamed on Obama.

If this country truly died every time something happened we didn't like, we've died hundreds--maybe even thousands--of times over.

4. You tell me--I have no fucking clue.
Goddamn it, this Union was forged in the crucible of a war for independence against the greatest army in the known world.

We survived nullification, slavery, and a civil war that actually did tear the country in half.

We survived two world wars.

We didn't end up in a Fallout 3-esque post-nuclear apocalyptic wasteland at the end of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

We outlasted Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and both Bushes. We are STILL HERE.

And yet we're being told that the world has ended by a bunch of Chicken Little pants-wetters because a Republican managed to win a Senate seat held by a Democrat for a half century and the Supreme Court has basically just told corporations that they can do out in the open what they've been doing in secret for the past 40 years.

Does it suck? Yes. It does.

But we get up and we keep going. As Senator Kennedy once said, "The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dreams shall never die."

6. Your Ted Kennedy quote made me cry again. But in a good way. If he could say that when...
... his last brother had just been murdered, well I guess I can keep going despite the attempted murder of the Constitution.

13. The dream goes on for you Senator Kennedy
What a man.

When I think of how he could have just had a life of sailing and friends and $$$'s unendling yet after each tragedy, he never gave up, what a giant of a man.

5. The country they speak of never existed.
They talk of a time when Democrats were REAL Democrats but they never quite pin down what period of time that was.

7. This decision has NOTHING to do with Obama.
HE did not appoint Scalia and Roberts to the bench.

HE is not ultimately responsible for the campaign Coakley ran.

I am so FUCKING sick of this!

I guess some people liked Bush the Dictator a lot more than I realized.

And I'm talking about people who are supposed to be on OUR side.

:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

8. Well, I say this decision
is another nail in our country's coffin hammered in by Bush's Supreme Court appointments.

Barney Frank said on MSNBC last evening that Congress will address this ruling with legislation within Congressional authority which will be designed to limit what corporations to do. I hope they can succeed.

9. Their language is so extreme
So many drama queens around.

One thing about this decision: supposing they could have shown the Hillary movie right before the primary? Are people that soft in the head that they're going to change their minds?

And it was just primaries, not general elections, to which this rule applied. Primary voters are certainly stronger in their support than to let a movie change their minds.

Odd that we would be on the side of the United Citizens, they were right wing - And they were trying to affect Dem primaries. They thought they could beat Obama more easily!

12. Hyperbole rules the internet. Once someone in GD asked
"What is it like living in America right now?" and they got "It's like living under a tin pot dictatorship in a third world country!"

As someone who has a majority of their family still living in Mexico (which is still richer than many other countries) I can only laugh.

15. Thank god this current group of malcontent DUers didn't live through the Depression.
They never would have survived it.
And don't even think about them fighting in WWII. They would all have fled to Canada, and Germany would have won the war.
