Sometimes I can't stand this place.
Sarah Palin went on TV and basically advocated violent overthrow of the government.

The economy is slowly improving, but is still on life support.

People everywhere are dying because they can't afford life-saving medical treatments without health insurance.

What does GD focus on?

Rahm Emanuel.

1. Don't forget the all-seeing, multi-headed Hydra that's the DLC!
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 04:11 AM by Number23
I swear, I'd barely heard of the DLC before I started posting here. I knew OF them but had no real knowledge of what they were about.

But after seeing the frothing and slobbering that so many of the most unhinged and divorced from reality here exhibit towards the DLC, including accusing half of DU of being "paid DLC operatives," I have come to conclude that any person or group that can get these psychopaths so worked up can't POSSIBLY be all that bad.

Republicans have declared open war upon on our President, teabaggers are trying their hardest to portray everyone with a (D) behind their name or in possession of an education beyond the 4th grade as "enemies of the State," independents are fleeing due to a lack of bi-partisanship and yet, DU is consumed by the damn DLC. Oh, and Dennis Kucinich. Lord have mercy...

Christ, I want Dennis Kucinich to be President just so his horrible fan club will turn on him.

28. If I was a paid operative of all the groups I was accused of working for
I'd be loaded. I find the paranoia amusing, I do wonder if some of those making that accusation are actually projecting.

Any thread that is positive about the Democratic Party almost always gets a stink bomb thrown in.

32. Exactly. But the thing that gets me is, do people here REALLY think that
a) the DLC has so much money that they can be paying apparently DOZENS of people to post here and b) that DU is really that important a vehicle in the Democratic party that the DLC would be paying people to post pro-DLC posts here? Do people really think that?? REALLY??!

As for Dennis Kucinich, it always strikes me as interesting the QUALITY of the people here who are his most vehement, passionate supporters. Obama scratches his ass and that's reason for fifteen threads condemning him by the same people who just can't prostrate themselves fast enough before their statues of Dennis. The thing is, I don't really care about DK one way or the other. He seems like a lovely chap with some strong and fairly noble convictions for the most part. But anyone who thinks that DK is anywhere NEAR in the same league as Obama or Hillary or Ted Kennedy etc. is just deluding themselves. 90% of people in AMERICA have never heard of DK and no one outside of the US has.

Shoot, if anyone has any "paid operatives" around here, judging by the looks of far too many posts here, it would have to be DK. Even though I'm 99.999% sure he doesn't have the money for such things.

36. If DK, Hillary
and others knew about the behavior of some of their supporters online they would be appalled.

None of the people that those posters claim to support want to send the Democratic Party in to opposition, too many DU Users (whether paid GOP activists or otherwise) appear to adore the idea.

Opposition is great for many so called Liberal blogs, donations increase, readership increases, they can espouse all kinds of policies. Hence the rise of "Conservative" blogs now. The money goes the other way in opposition and the cash tills are open.

Opposition is fine for the tills, but it means you can get nothing done. Nothing. It is almost as though they forgot those 8 wasted years that took almost every Country on this Earth to the brink of destitution.

To stay in power however means selling what has been done. The Republicans will not do that for us. As soon as I saw people on this board complaining that health care did not go far enough, so they wanted nothing, I knew a void would be created and the right would take over. That is exactly what happened last Summer. And that is what is wrong with the likes of Ham Janeshire at FiredCatPond or whatever she is called and other DU posters. How much time have they spent selling the Democratic Party this past year instead of providing GOP talking points?

3. It's unbelievable.
It shouldn't be tolerated here either. If they're going to delete my posts because I say "anti-Democratic Party DUers" and that's "a name" then why can't they delete posts that show sympathy toward puke Republicans?

8. You and me.
In reference to how I feel sometimes.

I'm learning to log off and cool down when I see the dumb shit....
cause otherwise, I might one day say something
that will allow a reason to be shown the door.

I wouldn't mind that so much,
but the fact that some would get so much satisfaction out of it,
is what makes me cool my heels,
and not call folks out.

Only, I'm saying it about the shit hole town where I live. I live among the Sarah Palin lovers. But, that makes all the Rahm-hate even more frustrating. I swear to god, sometimes reading the GD and GD-P seems just like reading the comments sections and editorial page of my local fish wrap. There is enough to be depressed about without all the infighting. I wish people would stop it.

24. Naw.
South Carolina. I have to say, however, after reading my paper's anonymous "Talkback" section in Sunday's paper, even the GD and GD-P look like an Obama love-fest. It was that bad. The paper didn't even put most of the comments on their web page. I guess they were afraid that someone like me might link them to to a place like this, and the people here would crash their servers.

BTW, I only buy the paper on Sundays for the sale flyers and coupons. The coupons more than make up for the cost of that putrid rag. The rest of the week--they can stick it where the sun don't shine.

27. Now they got some fresh meat..
helen thomas threw them a juicy bone with "Obama's got a foreign policy and it's war".

helen also called Obama a coward a while back which was fine for that crowd.

helen was an excellent watch dog in the bush admin but with President Obama she can't be bothered with facts..it's all about the vicious soundbyte with her.

I think she was being a bit dramatic calling him a "coward", though. And I think she's being too simplistic with her latest soundbite.

with "the dennis stands on his principles" and "helen can say anything she wants" crowd.

Yeah, she's consistently wrong.. on President Obama. She was whining about him going after fauxsn00ze, too.

A couple of days ago I was wondering where she was and what was the next clueless diss that would come out of her now disingenuous corner.

It's third-rate right-wing infotainment.

I suppose being a media personality, she wants to defend her comrades in arms, but she should really know.
