I'm gain bringing this up as almost every day there seems to be a new reason to hate on "Rahmbo".
Frenchiecat wrote an excellent article questioning this and highlighting the fact that Rahm is far from the "blue dog" posters on DU say he is. Of course all the idiot "he called us retard posts" came out.
A major part of the rise of the Republicans has however had nothing whatsoever to do with the President. It is Congress and more so the Senate. Much much more in fact. Nancy has, even with difficult legislation and a much wider range of "cats to herd", consistently delivered.
Almost every bill that has gone through the Senate the delays have been with the GOP, fine that was their job, but also with Senators Baucus, Bayh and Landrieu. Lieberman - despite the very deserved distrust people have of him has actually been less of a divisive factor than these three.
Yet, you read nothing about these three on DU. Everything is the fault of the President and Rahm Emmanuel. As if they have the power to force the hands of these three by remote control.
For all of the Dennis and Hillary worshippers on the main boards, few explain how their annointed Patron Saints would have achieved anything different to the President, given the attitudes of certain members of the Congress.
Maybe, in the alternate reality that Hillary had won, Bayh may have been VP, which would have removed a trouble maker from the Senate. It is quite obvious he believes that as you could almost see the hatred coming out of his eyes when he was asking the President a question the other day.
Despite that, it would have still left Baucus and Landrieu there. They both seem to have their own agenda and it does not appear to help the Democratic Party. Also it is quite clear from polling it does not help them. Any governing Party should quickly learn that a Party divided does not win elections, yet all they have done is fight against the platform that they were elected to serve on.
Of all the accusations levelled at Obama, the one about him not being ready is not true. The Senate was not ready to help govern.
Where is the outrage about these Senators?
Where is the talk of Primaries against these people? Deathly silence. Seriously try find some real talk about it. You will find lots of Lieberman hate, yeah fine, he betrayed the Party, all Democratic supporters distrust / hate him. Lots of talk about about Specter, but Republicans want revenge on him too. Nothing about "the blue dogs", who you would think are the real enemies of the "Liberal left".
It really does make you wonder if these people are the "Liberals" that they claim to be.
Blame the President is a meme. A Republican meme that they hope to use to win back Congress with. There are a good number of "Liberals" who are more than actively repeating that meme, and many true liberals are actually falling for that meme.
